The purpose of this public forum will be to support families and present more information about suicide prevention. In addition to information, the forum will focus on increasing awareness of area resources that are available to help families deal with this difficult and complex topic.
The format of the forum will be to begin the meeting with presentations from each organization present about resources they provide and how to access these resources. Organizations presenting will be N.A.M.I, Waldo County Hospice, MidCoast Mental Health and local clergy. After these presentations there will be one to two family survivors from other communities that will share their stories with those in attendance. After these large group presentations, there will be an opportunity for those in attendance to break up into smaller groups to meet and talk on this very important topic.
Childcare will be provided. Refreshments will be available in the cafeteria after presentations. Print information in the form of pamphlets and other resources will also be made available to those in attendance.
