“Screenagers” explores how families are coping with kids and screen time.

Belfast — Belfast Free Library, 106 High St., will host a free screening of the documentary film “Screenagers” (2016, USA) Thursday, May 25. Complimentary pizza will be served at 5:30 p.m., followed by the film and discussion.

Filmmaker Delaney Ruston explores family struggles over social media, video games, academics and internet addiction. Featuring personal stories and insights from authors, psychologists and brain scientists, “Screenagers” reveals how tech time impacts kids’ development and offers solutions on how adults can empower kids to best navigate the digital world and find balance.

By partnering with Mainestay Afterschool Program at East Belfast School, the library was selected to participate in the film company’s REACH program. “Screenagers” is recommended for age 10 and older; limited childcare will be provided for younger children. Preregistration is requested at erirish@belfastlibrary.org or 223-4264.
