By MICHAEL SIROTA | May 18, 2014

The Searsmont Bicentennial year's activities continue this Saturday May 24 with an historical presentation by Michael Craig Hillmann of "Riverside Cemetery: A Personal Photographic Take." Hillmann, whose great-great-grandparents Thomas and Nancy Craig and John and Abigail Bartlett lived and died in Riverside (Searsmont), will deliver his free program at 10am Saturday morning at the Searsmont Community Building. Hillmann is an accomplished photographer who has long documented the history and architecture of the Waldo County town at the junction of routes 131 and 173. His program continues a year-long series of events that began with a recognition of Founders Day, and moves forward with the Memorial Day and Bicentennial Parade next Monday morning May 26 starting at 9am in the village center, and ends with an array of family fun, dinners, a dance, and fireworks during the week of August 2 to 9.
