Wow...drastic weather changes but then again Fall is a few weeks away only. Ok, I won't say it...just be ready. I will be glad when this voting for the RSU 20 is done and things get settled. I don't think there are any easy decisions in all this, it just needs to be done in one accord and finished once and for all. It would be nice if this could have all been handled before the school year began and taxes are due.
Searsmont Town News
THANK YOU to everyone who has paid their tax bills in advance. The more money that comes in now, the less the town will have to borrow and pay interest on. Your payment will show on your bill when you receive it. As mentioned last week, if the school budget has not been passed by Sept. 24, the taxes will be estimated and the tax bills will be printed and mailed.
There will be a public hearing at the Troy Howard Middle School, September 10th at 7:00 P.M. to set the figures for the RSU 20 budget Hearing . Your attendance is important.
Tues, Sept 17, there will be a secret ballot referendum to accept or reject the total school budget. The vote will take place on the lower level of the community center. Voting is from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.
