Well we have safely made it to February and this month looks as it will be a pretty good winter month, subject to change of course. Our town is getting ready to celebrate our big Bi-Centennial year and hope a lot of folks will join us. The committee has been working very hard the past couple of years and I know there promises to be a lot of good days ahead. Looking forward to the celebration on the 5th.

Searsmont Historical Society
The February meeting of the Searsmont Historical Society will be held at 1:30 P.M., Wednesday, February 12th in the Historical Room. Jan Cunningham will give a presentation and demonstration on spinning wool using an antique spinning wheel donated to the historical society by Karen Andrews. The spinning wheel has been in the Sprowl for several generations. As a reminder, Searsmont Historical Society Bicentennial calendars are still available for $10 at the Fraternity Village Store, Searsmont Library and Searsmont Historical Society. The calendars are wonderful keepsakes of this historic year!
