Community News

Condolences

Carl Barnaby passed away on Tuesday, May 13th.

He very much enjoyed participating in community events and the Historical Society. Due to his declining health in the recent past few years, unfortunately he was not
able to. Carl and his wife Betty have lived in Searsmont since 1994.

Since his death was not good timing for the obituary to be in the RJ
before the funeral, Betty has chosen this method of giving the information
to our community.

Family Needs Support

As many have probably heard, on May 15th the Bragg family on Woodsman Mill Rd. lost their home and all their belongings to a house fire. I hadn't heard until just tonight as I was updating my article as we were out of town, so I wanted to include this. True, Jannika and their infant son Liam were blessed to have made it out safely but will be having to start all over. So far already the community has raised more than $32,000 and it has been an overwhelming response from our community. A fund has been set up for this family at gofundme.com/983hs8.

Thank-You!!

Crossroads to Calvary Food Pantry would like to thank all of those who put bags of donations on their mail boxes for the Food Drive. This is a tri-town food pantry and appreciate any dry goods, canned foods, etc. that we get. This year I don't recall even hearing of the food drive or didn't get a card reminder from the post office. I know we all get busy, such as myself, but food donations have been quite scarce the last couple of years. Please keep this much needed community outreach in mind all year around.
