It is hard to believe Memorial weekend is here already! I am very excited about the Memorial day Parade here is Searsmont as it will also be part of our Bi-centennial celebration. Hoping to see many of you there. I will also have to of my granddaughters with me this year and that always makes parades more fun. I have been raking and cleaning up a lot of yard work and things are shaping up gradually. I hope everyone has a blessed Memorial day weekend and enjoys time spent with families and friends. With much gratitude, I want to thank all those who gave their lives to protecting our country over many years, wars and their time and devotions so proudly they braved! We had the pleasure and honor of spending the weekend with family in Topsham and then Portland the weekend of the 18th. Our grandson Zeke, turned 1 year old on Saturday and his mom Brandi Brewster graduated of MCCM on Sunday from Medical Assistant class. She has worked on this achievement over the past few years and we are so very proud of the mom and daughter she has grown into. She also has a 10 year old daughter, Iya, so she has dedicated a lot of her life not only to school but in being a “Supermom!!”

Searsmont Youth Baseball

Searsmont Youth Baseball would like to thank the family of the late Chuck Springer of Belmont for their generous donation to the youth of the tri-town area. Ellie Springer, Everett Springer, Patricia Bernstein and Joanne Grigoreas, your generosity is greatly appreciated and we thank you.

Searsmont Students News

Searsmont is well represented on the BAHS Varsity baseball team, with six of the twelve members hailing from our town: Kyle Artkop, Alex Canning, Emery Dinsmore, Will Hyland, Peter Spectre, and Drew Stanley.  Furthermore, all six of these student athletes made the third quarter Honor Roll. Kudos to the coaches, teacher, and parents, and of course, the fine young men themselves.

The Belfast Chapter of the National Honor Society recently held its annual induction. Those students selected exhibit qualities of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Inductees whose past involves the halls of Weymouth and Ames schools are: Autumn Stupca, Kirsten Caswell, William Hyland, Autumn Jackson, Hannah Lynam, Catherine McGinn, and Madison Pickering. Congratulations to all those who played a part in these exemplary accomplishments.
