Well..what a bunch of sweltering days we have had!! Its either feast or famine. Now here it is 4th of July and we get overcast and thunder storms during firework displays so now they are canceled until tomorrow which is fine with me as I am using this for a “down/catch- up day!” I pray everyone had a safe and happy 4th of July with your families, friends and maybe new friends you meet along your way. Also I would like to thank those who have served our country, past..present and future!! I and my husband come from long lines of serving our country and I would like to thank each one. It may not be so much “the Land of the Free” but it is still ours, let's reclaim it, through our founding father's and the God who gave us all this and so much more.

Searsmont Library Book and Bake Sale

Mark your calendars now for Saturday July 19 . That’s the date of the 25th annual Searsmont Town Library Book & Bake Sale. The event starts at 9A.M. at the Searsmont Community Center and ends at 1P.M. . This year you should see thousands of books, hundreds of yard sale items at “Grandma’s Attic,” dozens of delicious pies, cakes, and cookies at the Bake Sale, and more than 120 great items up for bid at the Silent Auction. A special note: the auction closes at exactly 12 noon, according to Library Trustee Roger Quehl.  This event is sponsored by the library and Friends of The Searsmont Town Library, and is made possible by more than 35 volunteers.  All that booking, baking, and bidding raises nearly one third of the funds needed to operate the Searsmont Town Library for a year.  The Book & Bake Sale is always a lot of fun.  I’ll be there, and hope to see you there, too.

Public Supper

There will not be a July supper at the Searsmont Methodist church. We're having a lobster fest in August, in conjunction with the town's bicentennial.
