Monday, August 11, starting at 6:30 p.m., the Planning Board will meet in the Town Hall. This meeting will be televised.
Tuesday, August 12, starting at 7 p.m., the Searsport Historical Society will meet in Curtis Hall on Church Street. Local author Sally Savage will be giving a talk on her book, "A Fair Day" about the horse traders of Ireland. With Sally's photography and the stories of the independent men, this is a program not to miss! Open to all, refreshments served.
Wednesday, August 13, starting at 6 p.m., the Searsport RSU Withdrawal and the Stockton Withdrawal Committee will hold a workshop in the Stockton Springs Town Office.
Thursday, August 14, starting at 7 p.m., the Board of Appeals will meet in Union Hall. This meeting will be televised.
Saturday, August 16, starting at 4 p.m., STEELIN' THUNDER Steel Band Concert will take place on the south lawn of the A. V. Nichols Inn.
Chairs will be furnished or bring a blanket. Dance on the lawn to the music or just relax and enjoy this Show Stopping Band! Beverages of all types will be available for purchase as well as appetizers and other delicious food items.
Admission is $12.00 for adults and $6.00 for children under 12 with ID. This is one concert not to be missed. Top quality right here in Searsport and what a setting. The concert will benefit the Capital Campaign of the First Congregational Church of Searsport.
Saturday, August 16, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m., the North Searsport United Methodist Church would like to invite the public to their baked bean supper consisting of baked beans, brown bread, hot dogs, cole slaw, chop suey, rolls and homemade pies. Price is $8.00 for adults and $4.00 for children over 12 years old. The church is located at the intersection of Mount Ephraim and the Loop road, 7 miles from Route #1.
Monday, August 18, starting at 6:30 p.m., the Planning Board will hold a workshop in the Town Hall.
Tuesday, August 19, the Selectmen will hold their regular meeting in the Town Hall. This meeting will be televised.
Wednesday, August 20, starting at 6:30 p.m., the Ordinance Review Committee will meet in Union Hall. This meeting will be televised.
The new Head of the Bay brochures have arrived. Businesses wanting copies can obtain them at the Bangor Savings Bank or by contacting the person who handled your advertisement. I also have copies.
