Linda Bowe, Ed. D., principal of Searsport Elementary School (548-2317), would like you to know that more then a decade of research by the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University has consistently found that the more often kids eat dinner with their families, the less likely they are to smoke, drink or use drugs later in life. With that in mind, our 21st Century After-School program is hosting, along with Thursday's Sept. 27 Open House, a "Dinner Makes a Difference" event, a celebration of families eating together. A free spaghetti dinner will be served from 4:45 until 6:15 p.m. (last seating).
After-school staff and students, and members of our PIE (Partners in Education) parent group have volunteered to cook, serve, and clean up. Thank you for everyone's participation!
