Monday, Oct. 15, the town office will start issuing 2013 dog licenses.
Tuesday, Oct. 16, starting at 7 p.m., the regular Selectmen's meeting will take place in the Town Hall. This meeting will be televised.
Thursday, Oct. 18, starting at 6:30 p.m., the Historic Preservation Committee will meet in the Town Hall. This meeting will be televised.
Thursday, Oct. 25, starting at 7 p.m., the North Station Committee will meet in the Dan Rich Public Safety Building.
Friday, Oct. 26, & Saturday, Oct. 27, the Belfast Area High School class of 2016 will host the second haunted walk. This year they will have the walk at Belfast High School on Waldo Avenue. Walks will start at 6 p.m. and continue until 9:30 p.m. Cost is $5. per person. They recommend children under 13 be accompanied by an adult, as they plan to be very frightening. The Warm Coat Project in Waldo County is once again collecting coats, warm sweaters and blankets to be distributed to those in need. Items must be clean and in good condition. The collection boxes are at the Waldo County YMCA, the Belfast Police Department, First Church and the Prospect Town Office. Donations will be accepted through the first week of December. Distribution will take place on the days the Christmas and Thanksgiving boxes are given out and other places. For more information, call Debbie Mitchell at 338-1255.

Through Oct. 3, 2012, the revenue received this year from recycling at the Transfer Station stands at $22,425.53. This money helps offset the total operating costs of the transfer station. Recycling works.
