We have many meetings coming up in the next three weeks. If the work to be done is completed, a few of these meetings may be canceled.
Tuesday, Jan. 29, starting at 7 p.m., the North Station Fire House Committee will meet in the Town Hall. This meeting will be televised.
Wednesday, Jan. 30, starting at 6:30 p.m., the Planning Board will hold a public hearing in the Town Hall for public comment on the proposed amendments to section V (B) of the ordinance governing the Board of Appeals. The results of this hearing will be voted on at the town meeting on Saturday, March 9 .
Thursday, Jan. 31, starting at 6:30 p.m., the Selectmen will hold a workshop in the Town Hall.
Feb. 4, 6, 8, 14 & 15 starting at 7 p.m., the North Station Fire House Committee will meet in the Town Hall. These meetings will be televised.
Tuesday, Feb. 5, starting at 7 p.m., the regular meeting of the Selectmen will take place in the Town Hall. This meeting will be televised.
Thursday, Feb. 7, starting at 6:30 p.m., the selectmen will hold a workshop in the Town Hall.
Feb. 11, 12, and 13 (if needed), starting at 6 p.m., the Planning Board will continue its public hearing in the high school cafeteria. These hearings will be recorded for future broadcast on Channel 7.
A reminder that the 2013 dog licenses must be purchased before the end of the month to avoid the extra $25 charge.
Tax appointments with free e-filing are available Wednesdays, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., Feb. 6 through April 10 at Carver Memorial Library in Searsport. For a tax appointment, call Pat Snyder at 567-3137 evenings. This free service, sponsored by the AARP Foundation in conjunction with the Eastern Maine CA$H Coalition and the IRS, is available for low- to moderate-income taxpayers of any age, with special attention for those 60 and over. The volunteer tax preparers are IRS-certified.
