Searsport — The Penobscot Valley Conference made its official selections for its annual all-conference awards Feb. 25, a development that boded boded well for a handful of Searsport District High School basketball players.

On the boys side, two Vikings were recognized, as senior Adrian "Buddy" Ellis was named as both a PVC senior all star and named as a conference honorable mention. Also honored was senior Austin Bean, tabbed as an all-defensive selection.

On the girls side, freshman Melinda Ogden was named to the all-defensive team.

The senior all-star games, which Ellis will take part in, will be Wednesday, March 6 at Orono High School. The girls game will be at 5 p.m., with the boys game to at 6:30 p.m. The PVC first-team, second-team, third-team and honorable mention teams for boys and girls will be recognized at the event.
