A year has passed since the tragic shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, and so, many parents will give their kids an extra hug of comfort during the Christmas season this year. One of the best ways to love and support our children is in prayer. Christian Science shows how prayer can be powerful and reliable to nurture, protect, guide, and heal children.

Christmas celebrates the birth of the child, Jesus, who represented the eternal Christ, God’s spiritual idea, here with us always. At Christmas we can celebrate the presence of the Christ with our children too, keeping them innocent, safe, and loved by God.

You’re invited to join this live audio chat with Christian Science practitioner and teacher Judy Olson from Westport, Connecticut. Bring your questions and prayers to join with others in supporting and cherishing children.

Judith Hardy Olson: Judy is originally from Kansas City, Missouri. After graduating from college where she majored in English, she worked in public/employee relations and then married and became a stay-at-home mom and lived in eight different cities. Judy taught art to inner-city children, and she served on the board of a men's shelter. She was a member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship for four years, and is a frequent contributor to the Christian Science periodicals.
