Seriously, That Was a Hoax?
by Jeff Howland
Hoaxes as far as the drone can fly. You've got your Amazon Prime Air, the Thanksgiving mile-high meltdown, the New Jersey waitress, and the Pace Salsa debacle; that's just in the last week. Running with scissors folks, someone's gonna lose an eye. MTV used to play things called videos, where people would sing and dance and do all sorts of groovy things. Here's why they stopped.
You think you have buffering issues now? Wait until you're streaming live HD video of Earth from space. Speaking of Netflix, here's how movies get from the internets to your living room. Let's keep this movie thing going -- see how they got this giant Smaug on a plane, Darth Vader's first known selfie, still trying to make this nightmare come true, and an eagle stole a camera and apparently uploaded a viral video to YouTube. This is not a hoax. See how this can be confusing?
Why am I just now finding out why birds can sleep on branches -- brilliant! Not a great week for Red Sox Nation. A group of people took a test to see if their Facebook statuses reveal if they're psychopaths. Apparently they can, and on that note, some geniuses decided, not only would they steal a truckload of radioactive materials; hell, let's open this thing up. This will not end well for them. You will never ever guess what the super secret launch code for U.S. Nuclear missiles was for 20 years. Oh wait, yeah, you actually will guess it.
Todd Mills, the man who came up with the Doritos Taco, passed away after a fight with cancer, Paul Walker's tragic death was followed by this tribute from the Fast & Furious crew and a touching story that he had kept secret. And as I write, the world is mourning the loss of, "one of the most influential, courageous, and profoundly good human beings that any of us will share time with on this earth," Nelson Mandela. South African President Zuma let the world know, "He is now resting. He is now at peace. Our nation has lost its greatest son. Our people have lost its father."
