Skater Of The Week

By Skating Club of Maine | Nov 01, 2010

We value our skaters and decided it was time to introduce some of them to you. We'll pick a radom skater from a variety of the Skating Club of Maine classes and feature them as our skater of the week.

This weeks Skater of the Week is Karen Poulin. She has been skating all her life. She began skating on ponds and has taken lessons ever since she was a teen. She has adult pre bronze standing and has coached at the Midcoast Recreation Center since it opened in 2001. She now coaches the STEP (Skating Tennis Education) program which is an MRC endeavor that brings local schools to the facility at no charge.

She is currently taking the Power Stroking and Synchronized Skating class. Her favorite thing about skating is being a member of Sub Zero, the Skating Club of Maine synchro team. Her favorite skater is Sasha Cohen.

She loves to read, knit, quilt and trail and mountain hike.
