The Penobscot School in Rockland is hosting a soirée on Saturday,
November 17 at 6:00 p.m. This is a pot luck dinner “à la Française”
with special guest Saloua Khadri.
Saloua is a young lady from Azrou, Morocco, and a student majoring in
English Literature and Culture at Moulay Ismail University.
Ms. Khadri came to Rockland during the summer to participate in the
English immersion program at Penobscot School and has extended her
stay to work as a volunteer intern with The Camden Conference. This
is in keeping with her interest in getting to know different cultures
and people from various parts of the world. In addition to French,
Saloua speaks Arabic, English, and two dialects from West Africa. Her
career goal is to work with an international service organization,
such as UN.UNICEF or IRC (International Rescue Committee).
Those wishing to meet Saloua Khadri are cordially invited to bring a
favorite French (or Moroccan) dish and join Francophiles of the school
for an evening of lively French conversation. All speaking levels are
welcome.
Penobscot School is a non-profit center for language learning and
international exchange, founded in 1986, located at 28 Gay Street in
Rockland, Maine. For more information, please call 207-594-1084 or
