Spencer watercolors at WORKS

Searsport — “Anne Spencer & Friends,” an exhibit of watercolors by Midcoast artists will open Friday, June 13, at WORKS Bookstore & Gallery, 21 East Main St./Route 1. There will be a reception for the artists from 5 to 7 p.m., and the exhibit will run through July 6.

Anne Spencer has lived in Maine for more than 40, practicing occupational therapy and pursuing her love of painting and sketching with watercolor and ink. Spencer is a longtime member of the Bangor Art Society and has exhibited her paintings all over Maine, as well as in locations out-of-state. She enjoys teaching sketching and watercolor techniques in adult education programs, workshops and presentations. Her paintings have received several awards.

Joining Spencer on the WORKS walls will be her students Linda Bradstreet, Nancy Hamilton, Veronica Magnan, Patty O’Connell, Sandra Strahan, Liz Wilson and Dorothy Wurman. For more information, call Karen Jelenfy at 899-5988.
