One-day seminar

'Spiritual Themes of Leonard Cohen'

Apr 21, 2014

Belfast — David Peloquin is an internationally known author and singer. He views Leonard Cohen as a gift from the universe; a prophetic and wise soul with an artist’s vision and a mystic’s pen. The seminar will draw from Peloquin’s published essay "The Unified Heart and Blessing to End Disunity: The Spiritual Themes of Leonard Cohen."

As part of the program, Peloquin will perform several songs of Leonard Cohen. This seminar will be a participatory in-depth exploration of the spiritual themes in Leonard Cohen’s work, part of a worldwide celebration of a great spiritual artist in his 80th year.

Leonard Cohen, the “Golden Voiced” Canadian singer-songwriter, has engaged in a life-long exploration of the great wisdom traditions, East and West. Cohen spent several years as a Zen monk in the 1990s, and emerged with a maturity and quiet wisdom that has touched a worldwide audience.

The seminar will be held Saturday, May 3, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at St. Margaret’s Church Parish House, 95 Court Street, Belfast.

Admission is $50. Bring your own lunch; coffee, tea, and refreshments will be provided.
