SRLT: Evening walk to explore vernal pools
|Apr 26, 2014|
The Sebasticook Regional Land Trust invites all ages on this guided visit to where the wild things get down to business each spring: vernal pools. These concentrated pools of life are where frogs, salamanders and more gather for courtship, attracting even more critters looking for a good meal. Guides will be Colby College biologist and amphibian expert Cathy Bevier and ornithologist Tom Aversa. The event is free and open to the public. Participants should gather at the Trust office, 93 Main St. in Unity, for a short carpool to the site. For more information and to sign up, call 948-3766 or email jennifer@SebasticookRLT.org. Waterproof boots are recommended. To improve wildlife viewing, dogs should remain at home.
