Suzanne P. (LaMontagne) Matsubara
Stockton Springs — Suzanne P. (LaMontagne) Matsubara, 64, of Stockton Springs, Maine, beloved wife of Ramon (Ray) Matsubara, (formerly of Danvers) passed away peacefully on Thursday Sept. 13, at the Penobscot Nursing Home in Maine, following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Salem, Mass., on February 16, 1948, daughter of the late Rosaire D. LaMontagne and Therese G. (Beaulieu) LaMontagne. She attended St. Joseph’s grammar school and graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in 1966. She attended the School of Modern Fashion and Design in Boston and enjoyed many years of creating beautiful arts and craft articles for State Fairs and for her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband of 40 years and their daughter, Rebecca A. DeGeorge, her husband David and their son Carter of Ashland Mass.; two step-sons, Nathan Matsubara and his wife Janet and their three children of Burlington, Mass.; David Matsubara of Newburyport Mass. and his two daughters; her sister, Therese Stepenuck and her husband Stephen of West Swanzey N.H.; her brothers George LaMontagne of So. Hamilton Mass., and Roger LaMontagne and his wife Patricia of Salem Mass. She also leaves two aunts, Mrs. Betty Robinson and Mrs. Annette (Tibi) Gagnon both of Salem, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She will be deeply missed by all of them. Besides her parents, her brother Paul LaMontagne and several aunts, uncles and cousins pre-deceased her.
The family wishes to extend their profound thanks to the staff at the Penobscot Nursing Home where Sue was professionally and lovingly cared for this past year.
Wake to be held at Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple Street, Danvers, Mass. on Wednesday, Sept. 19 from 5 to 7 p.m. Private burial will be held at a later date.
