Swan Lake Fishing Derby winners announced

Swanville — The Belfast Area High School Athletic Boosters hosted its annual Swan Lake Ice Fishing Derby on Sunday, Feb. 12, an event that saw a handful of anglers go home with cash prizes.

Cash prizes were awarded for heaviest fish, including $100 for first, $75 for second and $50 for third in the trout, salmon and togue categories.

However, no trout were caught during the event, including the tagged bonus fish, which was worth $500.

Results from the event were:

Togue — James Hansen, 29 inches, six pounds, 10 ounces; Chris Moore, 24 ¼ inches, three pounds, nine ounces; and Mike Cushman, 23 ½ inches, three pounds, eight ounces.

Salmon — Charles Beckett, 21 ¼ inches, three pounds, eight ounces; Kane Ackley, 19 7/8 inches, one pound, 13 ounces (tiebreaker); and Dennis Beckett, 18 ½ inches, one pound, 13 ounces.
