Swanville — Two Swanville men escaped serious injury after their vehicles went off the road on Swan Lake Avenue Aug. 2.

According to a crash report by Deputy Ben Seekins of the Waldo County Sheriff's Office, 22-year-old Hayden F. Campbell, who was driving a 2001 Toyota passenger car, attempted to pass a 1993 Mazda passenger car driven by 22-year-old Trey L. Harford.

As Campbell was attempting to pass, Harford's vehicle accelerated to prevent Campbell from passing, Seekins wrote in the crash report. Both vehicles then drove off the left side of Swan Lake Avenue as the road veered to the right.

Campbell's Toyota rolled over and came to rest on its roof, Seekins said in the report. Harford's vehicle came to rest in a field.

Neither of the men were seriously injured in the crash.

Lt. Jason Trundy of the Waldo County Sheriff's Office said police did not discover the accident until early in the morning of Aug. 3.
