Temps are down, Oil prices are up – It’s time to schedule a FREE Energy Consult!

This week, the Governor’s Energy Office advised all Maine citizens to prepare for bitterly cold temperatures – and that cold has arrived. With today’s temperatures forecasted to stay in the teens, many people will be cranking up the heat. Unfortunately, that’s an increasingly expensive proposition. Home heating oil costs rose two cents in the past week to an average of $3.71 per gallon.

“With dangerously cold temperatures forecasted for this weekend, it is critical to take precautions now to avoid emergency heating situations,” urges Energy Office director Patrick Woodcock. “Now is the time to check your fuel tank to determine that there is an adequate supply and schedule a fuel delivery if you may be low. In addition, this week is a prudent time to check on elderly neighbors and relatives to ensure they are prepared for the coming cold temperatures.”

The best way to prepare for cold temperatures and rising prices is to schedule a FREE Energy Consult with Evergreen Home Performance. Learn how your home works and explore how energy efficiency upgrades can pay for themselves in comfort and savings.  Midcoast Maine homeowners working with Evergreen typically cut their energy bills by 25-50%, so no matter what happens to the price of oil, they’re buying a lot less.  Contact us at 594-2244 to learn more and to schedule your FREE energy consult.
