The art of cribbage at WORKS

Jan 04, 2014

Searsport — WORKS gallery and books-and-fiber store will begin hosting weekly cribbage and chess matches Saturday, Jan. 11, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. One chess table and several cribbage boards will be provided, along with hot coffee, tea and baked goods available for a small donation.

As Searsport dives into winter, everyone is invited to join their warm-weather cribbage mates in a new, cold-weather venue and chase the blues away with camaraderie and hot beverages. During breaks, one can browse the books and refresh the winter reading stash. In the fiber corner, there are handspun yarns for knitting and already hand-knit hats et al. The art gallery in the rear of the shop will feature recent and in-progress paintings by owner Karen Jelenfy.

WORKS is located at 21 East Main St./Route 1, in the historic bank building directly across from Toziers. For more information, call 899-5988; email arenjelenfy@gmail.com or visit the WORKS Facebook page.
