Frogtown Mountain Puppeteers bring another original show to Belfast Free Library, this one starring a reluctant hero named Little Chucky.

Belfast — The ever-popular Frogtown Mountain Puppeteers will return to Belfast Free Library, 106 High St., Friday, July 13 at 10:30 a.m. The show is free and open to the public. For more information, contact the library at 338-3884, ext. 24.

The Bar Harbor-based puppetry troupe will present “The Legend of the Banana Kid,” the story of Little Chucky who meets a mysterious cowboy who takes him to a remote town that is being harassed by a seedy group of outlaws. Chucky, riding his trusty goat and pretending to be a local hero, leads an effort to outsmart the thugs and bring justice back to the town … using bananas as his weapon of choice.

The Frogtown Mountain Puppeteers are three siblings — Erik, Brian and Robin Torbeck.  Founded in 2000, Frogtown Mountain has performed at fairs, theaters, parades, schools, libraries and some of the finest petting zoos on the East Coast. They write all their own shows, which are performed with their handmade puppets.
