'The Bees Knees' final bout of season for Rock Coast Rollers

Rockport — The Midcoast is abuzz about the Rock Coast Rollers’ final home bout of the 2014 season on Saturday, Aug. 23 at the Midcoast Recreation Center. The Rollers are a women's flat track roller derby organization.

The Rock Coast Rollers will celebrate all things summer at "The Bee's Knees," where the organization's A Team, The Perfect Storm, will take on Plattsburgh, New York’s North Country Lumber Jills.

Doors open at 5 p.m. and the first whistle is at 6 p.m.

The halftime show will include performances by Mid-Coast Hoop Jammers, drive by todd, and the Rock Coast Rollers Jeerleaders.

A portion of the proceeds will go to support the Knox Lincoln County Beekeepers – Supporting Bees and Beekeepers in the Midcoast.

Purchase tickets online at brownpapertickets.com/event/744990 or at local vendors (Good Tern Co-op, Belfast Co-op, and Clean Bee Laundry) for the discounted rate of $8. Free for children ages 12 and younger. Tickets also will be available at the door for $10.
