The Power of Living in God's Delight
Did you know that God’s pleasure is towards you and He delights in you! Quite often the Lord will whisper to my heart, “I am pleased with you.” Each time I hear this, I become more rooted in His love as a redeemed son in Christ Jesus,
Last Sunday our guest speakers, John and Shelli commented, “God is honoring this ministry with His presence.” A person in attendance commented, “I sensed His pleasure throughout the meeting.” Then I understood, when His pleasure is towards you, His presence touches the life of those around you. When God’s pleasure is towards you, His favor is upon you.
As we delight in Him, He gives us the desires of our heart. The reason is the delight of our hearts originated from His heart, which is to know Him. Taking our delight in the Lord attracts and sustains His presence that gives life to our reality. Those who seek Him will have the desire of their heart, which is His fellowship.
The Lord once said to Moses, “My presence shall go with you and I will give you rest.” I love Moses response, “If your presence doesn’t go with us, don’t lead us forward.” (Exodus 33:14-15). Just as the manifest glory of God was with Israel, we will not settle for anything less than His manifest presence in our midst. This too is God’s desire, which is to dwell in the midst of His people. His passion is that we might know Him as our heavenly Father and the joy of His fellowship.
Forget seeking the approval and acceptance of men. Delight in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. (Ps. 37:4). The favor and pleasure of God is more valuable than gold and silver. As King David said, In His presence there is fullness of joy and at His right hand there are pleasures forever more (Ps. 16: 11). God’s pleasure contains ALL spiritual blessings from the realm of heaven (Eph. 1:3).
There is no need to perform or to seek for God’s acceptance and approval. We are born again into Christ victory. Christianity is not performance based, but the abundant life that is ours in Christ. There is no need to walk in fear or anxiety, but in the fullness of His joy, “For the Kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness with peace and joy in the Spirit.” (Ro. 145:17)
God’s desire is for His people to know with full confidence and assurance that He takes great pleasure in His people AND He delights in them. As we walk in this truth, we become aware of the power of the reality of intimacy with our heavenly Father as His beloved Son’s and daughters. We thus serve Him from the place of having His approval, which frees us to love Him as we are. It is written,
He will take great delight in you; in His love He will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing" (Zephaniah 3:17).
God rejoices over you with singing! Here is a teaching of Graham Cooke that will enlighten your day with the truth of how God sees you and the power of living in God’s delight. http://brilliantperspectives.com/living-delight-not-discipline/
As always, “Rise and Shine for your light has come, and His glory has risen upon you “(Is. 60:1)
