Trotochaud opens studio, gardens
Belmont — Everyday Pottery Studio will hold its annual Studio Open House and Garden Tour Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 17 and 18, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Everyday Pottery is the work of Mary Trotochaud who forms functional stoneware pottery on the wheel.
Trotochaud’s studio is surrounded by woods, up from the blueberry barrens, five miles from Penobscot Bay. The studio windows face south, looking out on gardens.
“In summer it is a riot of colors from the flower beds and vegetable gardens, backed up by the deep green of the surrounding woods … always, the colors inspire,” the artist said.
Gardens will be open for touring and feature a new cob bread oven and handcrafted bird baths. The studio and gardens are located at 103 Northport Road, off Route 52 via Ryan Rd. For more information, call 342-2251 or visit marytrotochaud.com.
