Good Friday afternoon, I am excited to announce that I will be doing the weekly Troy News Member Story.

A little about me: born in 1981, I am the baby of five (two brothers, two sisters). I'm from Belfast, and moved to Troy in spring of 2011. I am a true country person, enjoying camping, fishing, 4-wheelin', cooking, gardening, just about anything outdoors. I like watching NASCAR (Kevin Harvick) and the Patriots (Tom Brady). I married to the most wonderful man, Michael Higgins, last September. I love my family and friends and enjoy spending as much time with them as possible.

Spring has sprung!

So glad that warm weather is finally here. We have been out fishing and fiddleheading a lot. Got most of the yard work done and the garden ready for planting. And with the warm weather come the black flies and mosquitoes -- yucky! Also, the ticks are already getting bad. Make sure to check yourselves, children and animals daily and after any contact with the woods and grassy areas.

Shout-out

Just want to give a big shout-out to Roger and his wife at Chadwick's garage in Burnham. They're very sweet people. We have been dealing with a few vehicle problems in the past couple weeks and Roger has been more than helpful, as usual, which is very much appreciated. Thanks, Roger.

Mother's Day

By the time this prints, Mother's Day will have already passed, but right now it's two days away and I want to wish my mom, Lee Littlefield, of Swanville, a happy Mother's Day. Love you.

And a happy Mother's Day to all the rest of you great moms out there. Hope you all enjoy(ed) your special day.

If anyone has any information or wants to add anything to this column, please feel free to contact me either by email or phone. I look forward to getting more information every week. Birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, congrats of any type, news, thoughts, ideas are welcome, and I would love to share them with the rest of our little community. Please have them in to me by Thursday evening at 6 p.m., as my deadline to submit is Friday at 3 p.m. And it will be in the following week's Journal that comes out on Thursday.
