Troy — A Troy man was arrested on five active warrants after officers received an anonymous tip about his location.

Waldo County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Jeff Trafton said Leroy Malcolm, 20, was arrested on Jan. 17 after the sheriff’s office received an anonymous call. The caller gave officers his location and when they arrived, they found Malcolm walking along the road in Troy, Trafton said.

Malcolm had two arrest warrants from Penobscot County for theft and restitution for assault; two warrants from Somerset County for forgery and acquiring drugs by deception; and one arrest warrant from Waldo County. However, Trafton was unable to determine the reason for the Waldo County warrant.

Trafton said Malcolm has been arrested several times in the past for theft and other offenses. Officers took Malcolm to Penobscot County, Trafton said.
