Two-vehicle crash on Route 137 reduces traffic to one lane
Waldo — A two-vehicle crash on Route 137 in Waldo reduced traffic to one lane the afternoon of Thursday, Jan. 2.
The crash was reported shortly before 1 p.m. and involved a pickup truck and a passenger car that collided on Route 137 near the intersection of Kendall Corner Road. The car appeared to have sustained significant front-end damage, while the pickup sustained damage to the rear end.
According to the accident report written by Waldo County Sheriff's Deputy Jordan Tozier, Haleigh Duclos, 20, of Thorndike, was traveling east on Route 137 when the pickup truck in front of her driven by 56-year-old James Goody of Orrington was slowing down to turn right onto Kendall Corner Road.
Due to the icy road conditions, Duclos was unable to stop her 2008 Ford passenger car and struck the rear end of Goody's 2003 Ford pickup.
Duclos' vehicle was towed from the scene due to disabling damage, according to the accident report. Goody's pickup truck sustained minor rear-end damage.
Duclos was not injured and Goody complained of pain. It is unclear in the accident report if he was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Tozier wrote in his report that Duclos was driving too fast for the road conditions at the time of the crash.
Waldo Fire Department personnel assisted at the scene of the crash.
