Unity College Professor John Zavodny to Present at Maine International Conference on the Arts, Friday, October 25
Unity, Maine – Unity College Professor and Director of the Center for Environmental Arts and Humanities John Zavodny will participate in a workshop on art and sustainability at the Maine International Conference on the Arts, Friday, October 25, in Room 5 of the Collins Center, University of Maine campus in Orono, from 5-6 p.m.
Also participating in the workshop are Martha Piscuskas, Director of Programming, Waterfall Arts and Michael Shaughnessy, Artist and Teacher at the University of Southern Maine.
The workshop will explore where the arts fit with topics like local food initiatives, green energy, sustainable building practices, land conservation, and other environmental movements. The session will explore ways the arts have intersected with these kinds of projects and explore the outcomes of the partnerships involved.
