Unity Town News
IN MY WORLD
On Saturday morning, the skies were blue as I sat on the deck with Bill, coffee in hand, watching the ducks ripple the pond water, the goats stretching their necks to reach grass beyond the fence, the rabbits munching corn and chickens clucking, hummingbirds buzzing almost motionless around the feeder, and a stellar set of Blues on the deck speakers. A soft breeze blew, Deep Breath and ... ahhh. What a nice weekend.
Later we went to Belfast with Emily Newell, visited Bella Books, then strolled down to Vinolio’s where I bought my favorite Sauvignon Blanc and Truffle Salt. Back up the hill led us to Eat More Cheese. I always feel like a kid in a candy store in there. We swung into Three Tides for a taste and a growler, and headed over to our destination: Young’s Lobster Pound. We ordered, smoothed out our tablecloth and laid out our fare. Emily made an extraordinary pasta salad, and even brought kitchen towels and hand wipes. Talk about being well prepared! Just before our number was called, a ship in Belfast Bay shot off a cannon. Then we dug in and boy, didn’t we treat ourselves. Now it was a stellar weekend. Thanks for the idea Emily!
