2013 moose permits are now available online at www.mefishwildlife.com. Researchers from Unity College and the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife are seeking information from residents of the Dixmont, Troy, Benton, Thorndike, Unity, and adjoining areas who spot bears. Residents may report their sightings by contacting Jennifer Whelan at Unity College at 948-9269, or bearstudy@unity.edu. Specific information sought includes the location of the bear, date and time of observation, along with contact information of the person who spotted the bear for follow-up questions.

Pruning Fruit Trees
Saturday, March 16 from 10am - 3pm
Learn to prune fruit trees to encourage vigorous growth, heavy fruit set, and quality fruit yield. Collection of scion wood and storage will also be discussed. Course will focus on pruning 10-12 year old trees and include renovation pruning of an old tree. Please bring a bag lunch. * Fee is $30.
