Portland — Two Waldo County students have had their artwork selected for the annual Youth Art Month student exhibition at Portland Museum of Art, March 1 through 31. March is National Youth Art Month, and the Portland Museum of Art and the Maine Art Education Association collaborate on this special presentation of student artwork from across the state of Maine.

Hannah Keyes’ “Fluffypants Whiskerton,” a water-mixable oil painting; and Will Leeman’s scratch art “Zebra” are part of the exhibition. Keyes, a student of painting teacher Heidi O'Donnell, is a senior at Belfast Area High School. Leeman is in fifth grade at the Palermo Consolidated School, where Kathy Sparrow is the art teacher.

A reception for students, their families and teachers will be held Saturday, March 2, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. pm in the Great Hall of the downtown museum, 7 Congress Square. For more information, visit portlandmuseum.org.
