Waldo County Home Health placed on 2012 HomeCare Elite list
Waldo County Home Health and Hospice has once again been placed on the 2012 HomeCare Elite list of home health care agencies in the United States. They have also been honored as one of the top 500 providers nationwide.
The 2012 HomeCare Elite list is compiled from publicly available information and recognizes the top 25-percent of agencies based on performance measures. Five other Maine home health care agencies received this designation, including Gentiva Health Services in Portland, Miles and St. Andrews Home Health and Hospice in Damariscotta, St. Joseph Homecare in Bangor, Home Health-Visiting Nurses of Southern Maine in Saco, and Professional Home Nursing Inc. in Caribou.
But only Waldo County Home Health and Hospice and Professional Home Nursing Inc. made the top 500 list.
The performance stats that were analyzed are quality of care, quality of improvement, patient experience, process measure implementation and financial performance.
“In today’s healthcare environment, it is no longer sufficient to simply supply services,” says Jill Kulbe, MSN, Director of Community Clinical Services for Waldo County Home Health and Hospice. “The services must have a positive impact on patient care and we have demonstrated that the care we are providing has resulted in improved outcomes. Perhaps the best indicator of success has been from the patient and family satisfaction surveys where there is overwhelming evidence that clients would refer others to Waldo County Home Healthcare and Hospice.”
