Winterport — A Warren woman was injured after being pinned between two vehicles at Winterport Dragway.

The accident occurred Aug. 9, when 50-year-old Dale Harvey was struck by a car driven by her boyfriend, Jay Lundevall, 53, of Warren. Lundevall was driving the car onto a trailer when Harvey was pinned between the vehicle and a truck attached to the trailer, Maine Public Safety Spokesman Stephen McCausland said in a news release.

Winterport Dragway Association President Jim Watson described the incident as a "freak thing" and said Lundevall was unaware Harvey was in between the trailer and the truck when he was loading his car.

Watson said Harvey suffered a broken wrist and ribs, as well as burns in the accident.

He added that $2,000 was raised Aug. 10 to help pay for Harvey's medical expenses with more benefits planned for the future.

McCausland said no charges would be filed as a result of the accident.
