Waterfall Arts exhibits Bridge work

Belfast — An exhibit of work made by Bridge, the next generation of local artists, will open with a 5 to 7 p.m. reception Friday, May 9, at Waterfall Arts, 256 High St. The opening is free and open to the public; all are welcome to attend, meet the young artists and show support for the arts.

Bridge is a free afterschool art club, funded by a grant from St. Margaret's Episcopal Church, that has been meeting weekly at Waterfall Arts since last fall. The group is led by Bridget Matros, who works with Belfast sixth graders on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. Under her guidance, the group has explored many art techniques, interviewed professional artists, connected to the local art scene and supported each other's self expression.
