Wilde talks, signs in Troy
Troy — Local author Dana Wilde will talk about and sign his books and participate in an informal discussion Tuesday, Sept. 24, at 6:30 p.m. at the Troy Union Church, routes 202 and 9. A portion of the book sales will benefit the Troy Union Church Steeple Fund.
Wilde writes the Backyard Naturalist column for the Morning Sentinel and Kennebec Journal newspapers. His books include “Nebulae: A Backyard Cosmography,” a collection of essays on the stars and planets; and “The Other End of the Driveway,” on the birds, beasts, plants and peculiarities of the natural world of central Maine.
His writings have appeared widely in newspaper, popular and literary publications for many years. A Fulbright scholar and an NEH fellow, he holds degrees from Binghamton University and the University of Southern Maine.
