Rockport — With impending rain on the horizon, the Friday night, Oct. 19 high school football game between Belfast and host Camden Hills has turned into a late-afternoon contest.

The regular-season finale between the Windjammers (1-6) and Lions (3-4), originally scheduled for 7 p.m. and moved to 5:30 p.m., has again been moved up to a 5 p.m. start, said Camden Hills athletic director Steve Alex.

According to weather.com, light rain will begin in Rockport about 4 p.m. and turn into full-fledged rain later in the evening and remain through to some point on Saturday, Oct. 20.

The game will be played on Don Palmer Field at Camden Hills.

It will be the third "night" game played "under the lights" in Camden Hills football history. The first was a varsity contest Oct. 12 against Nokomis of Newport, the second a jayvee game Oct. 15 and then the Oct. 19 varsity game with Belfast.

Because of the work of Herman Summers and others, eight rental light units have been stationed at Don Palmer Field and have remained there since the first game Oct. 12.
