Wine, cheese and ‘Potpourri’
Belfast — Betsy Headley's show "Potpourri" will open Friday, Sept. 6, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Belfast Co-op Café, 123 High St. The reception coincides with the monthly free wine tasting of highlighted seasonal Maine-made wines, Sonnental Maine-made cheeses (raw, grass-fed cow's milk, produced in Smyrna) and crackers.
Belfast resident Headley photographs a wide variety of subjects with edge and contrast, in black and white or infused with color. She also works in digital abstracts, acrylics and mixed media pieces utilizing photo collage. Her show, comprised of photographs, paintings and poetry, will be on display in the Co-op Café for the month of September.
McKensie Brown of Cellardoor Winery in Lincolnville and Jaap Helder of the Co-op's wine department will facilitate the tasting. Featured Maine-made wines will be 10 percent off during the tasting; participants must be 21 years of age or older to attend.
All are welcome at the community-owned Belfast Co-op, which is open daily 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. For more information, call 338-2532 or visit belfast.coop.
