Wine tasting, art opening Oct. 5 at the Belfast Co-op

"Vignettes" is one of the work by mixed media artist Beth Berman going on view ion October at the Belfast Co-op.

Belfast — On Friday, Oct. 5, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Belfast Co-op Café there will be a free monthly wine tasting of highlighted seasonal wines, gourmet cheese and crackers and the opening of "High Fiber." Jack Scully of Easterly Wines, Jaap Helder from the Co-op's wine department, and mixed-media artist Beth Berman will be available to answer questions. Featured wines will be 10 percent off during the tasting. Participants must be 21 years of age or older to attend.

"High Fiber" is a celebration of cloth having undergone various surface design techniques from fugitive media to deconstructed silk screening. To learn more about Berman's artwork, visit her website at maine-coast-fiberarts.com. Her show will be on display in the Café for the month of October.
