Wine tasting, avian art pair for benefit
Stockton Springs — The Good Kettle on Route 1 will host a benefit Wine Tasting for the Waldo County Humane Society Thursday, Sept. 19, from 5 to 7 p.m. Also featured will be carvings by guest artist Erwin Flewelling of Northport.
Flewelling has carved more than 500 birds of various species, and his work has been entered in many competitions up and down the East Coast. He finds inspiration outside the windows of his home in Northport as he observes the abundant species of birds that visit his feeders. Delicate feather pins and small birds for Christmas tree decorations are also part of his creative repertoire. To view more of his carvings, visit nestlewoodbirds.com.
Light appetizers paired with selected wines will be served; Pine State Beverage Company will be supplying the wines for the tasting. Attendees can buy a case of 12 bottles, mix or match, for 10 percent off. Ten percent of the evening’s sales profit will benefit the Waldo County Humane Society.
