Benefit Bone Marrow Drive for Butch Frost of Monroe, Fri. Nov. 1 at the Leroy Smith School on Main St. in Winterport from 3-7 p.m. Come and get swabbed and save a life. Heroes wanted , in good health, between 18 and 55 to register as a Bone Marrow donor. All swabs will be entered in the Bone Marrow Donors registry.
Winterport Open Stage will present the play " The Odd Couple-Female Version" at the Samuel Wagner Middle School, Mountain View Drive, Winterport, Fri. and Sat. Nov. 1 and 2 and again on Nov. 8 and 9. at 7:30 p.m. Sundays at 3 p.m. on Nov. 3 and again on Nov. 10. Tickets at the door, $8.00. Students and Seniors $6.00.
Voting will take place Nov. 5 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Wagner Middle School. There are 5 important bond issues to be voted on plus the vacancy to be filled for the Winterport councel position.
The overnight parking ordinance is in effect from Nov. 15 to Apr. 15. Any vehicle parked on any roadway in town or out back will be towed if interfering with snow removal. This will be strictly enforced and any vehicle towed will be at the owners expense. Absentee ballots are available at the Town Office until Oct. 31st.
There will be a box placed at the Town Office for the Waldo County Triad for people to deposit warm clothing for needy seniors in the county. Coats, sweaters, warm blankets, mittens and hats are being sought. The collecting will continue thru the second week of Dec.. American Legion Post #138 Winterport will be holding a Veterans Day Ceremony at 11:00 a.m. on Nov. 11 at the Winterport Memorial Library. The speaker will be Micheal Thibodeau, The Chaplain is LTC Dickerson. Lunch after the ceremony will be at the Victoria Grant Civic Center, provided by the Post Auxillary and is open to the public. Bacon Tree , facebook site lists what is being served on Friday Nights. Prices are reasonable.
