Winterport News

What an interesting week it has been.  Beginning Sat the 21st with a storm that turned into an ice storm and caused many power outages including me.  Had a couple of family members go to the ER at EMMC, one had an operation and is now recouping at home and the other is still a patient.  My CM alarm got low on the battery and started  beeping in the middle of the night. With each beep came a bark from my dog.  I finally had to call WCC for help because I couldn't find out how to get the battery out.  I want to thank Phil Foley from the Winterport Volunteer Fire Dept.  for coming out in the middle of a very cold night to change the battery.  Then came Christmas and I had planned on 5 people but ended up having 12 for dinner.  My home is rather small right now as I still have a table set up for my 5,000 piece jigsaw puzzle I received last Christmas.  We made out fine. I had the use of a generator thanks to my daughter and son in-law.  I used it during the day and they had it at night.  That's what you call sharing.  My power came back on at 6:40 Thursday night while it was snowing.  Now another storm is being forecast for Sunday.  Winter arrived in full force.  Everyone be careful of the ice and I hope by the time this comes out we all will be back to normal.                                                                                                                                   Congratulations going out to Teddy Weston of Winterport.  She received the " Spirit of America Award".   The Frankfort Volunteer Fire Dept  also received the" Spirit of America Award", congratulations.                                                                                                                          There are no Meetings for the Winterport Historical Association for January or February.                                                                                                                                Don"t forget to get you dog licensed.                                                                                                                                    Remember, no parking on any road intown or out back.                                                                                                                                         Happy New Year to All!!
