Town Office:                                                                                                                                     People attending the Winterport Town Meeting, June 12, agreed that the town does need a new building to house the Town Office, Fire and Rescue Dept and the Public Works.  A committee will be formed to look at locations and other building needs with a report due no later than Dec.1.                                                                                          Election results:   Anne Ronco, 278 votes,  Phil Foley, 224 votes, Dallas Harriman, 161 votes, and Corey Ginn, 139 votes.  Assessor, Susan Rious, 4i4 votes, John Coggeshall, School Board, 401 votes.  The School Budget passed with 322 yes votes and 168 no votes. Congrats to all who were elected.                                                                                                                                      WFD                                                                                                                                     Waldo County Firefighters Association is having a bottle and can drive now thru June. 21st. The proceeds will benefit the 2015 Fire Fighters Convention, the first ever to be held in Waldo County.  The Winterport Fire Department will be accepting bottles and cans at their Fire Station.                                                                                                                                                   Summer Food Rocks                                                                                                                          Free Food, Friend and Fun.  Kids and teens can stay active this summer and eat right.  Free meals the follow the USDA nutrition guidelines will be served at the Leroy H. Smith School in Winterport.  Meals are free to children and teens ages 18 and younger.  Parents don't need to fill out application to get a free summer meal for kids or teens. You simply bring your child to the Leroy H. Smith School between 11:30 and 12:30,  Monday  thru Friday beginning Wednesday June 25 until Friday August 22. ( There will be no lunch served on Friday, July 4th.  We always welcome volunteers.  If you are interested in helping out email dmoore@rsu22.us    or call Dawn Moore at 223-4282.                                                                                                                              Pants on Fire5K Beer Run/Walk and kids fun run Sat. June 28th at 9:30 a.m..  If you would like to help here are some opportunities.  Mon. June 16 @5:00 p.m. at 171 Lebanon Road.   Sign Making Party!   Wed. June 18 @ 8 a.m. prerace planning meeting.  Sat/Sun. June 21/22  @ 9 a.m.  Down town clean-up!  Wed. June 25 , prerace planning meeting. Fri June 27 @ 4 p.m. race set up. Sat. June 28 @ 7 a. m. Race set up.  Sat. June 28   RACE!!!   Sat June 28 @ 10:30 , Awards ceremony,  chili cook-off, Beer tent, local foods, Stone Fox Creamery ice cream cart. This is a fund raiser for the Winterport Fire and Rescue.  Sounds like fun, Come and enjoy!!
