A quick reminder : A baked bean supper, ECUMC 796 Lebanon Road, Winterport. Thrift shop open 9-noon and again 4-6 pm. Supper is from 4-6 pm, $8,00 for 7 and up and free under 7. All you can eat and take out available. A baked sale also. The last supper is coming up in Nov. for this year.

The Bacon Tree is teaming up with Penobscot Bay Brewery to bring you their first ever Beer Dinner for Greater Bangor Beer Week/ It will be a 5 course dinner incorporating from the Brewery by chef Nathanial Davis. The month of October is festival month both local and further away.

Winterport Winery and Penobscot Bay Brewery will be participating again in Greater Bangor Beer Week, which runs from Oct.16-22 with many events scattered through out the Bangor Area and beyond. We will be having special beer pricing on our bottled beer and growler fills at the tasting room. The big event for us that week is the coordinated beer dinner with our wonderful neighbors, The Bacon Tree. They are the chefs, we are the brewers...a delicious culinary match.

Beer Dinner Menu: Oct. 20, 6:30 pm at the Bacon Tree. First course----Duck Crostini with Humble B Fig compote. Second course--- Warm Spinach Bacon Salad with meadow road wheat vinaigrette. Third course---Feta Date Cups with Pear Cider Gastrique. Intermezzo---Cranberry Cider Sorbet. Entrée course---Tenderloin with IPA Demi Glace, seasonal root vegetables. Desert---Double Stout Delight Chocolate Brownie Stout Cake with a la mode Half Moon Stout Ice Cream. Cost is $65.00 per person plus tax and gratuity. All courses include paired beers. A new floor has been installed at the Victoria Grant Civic Center by Dickel Flooring. Money from the community supper, the Town of Winterport donated some and Don Dickel donated also to complete the project.

Triad has placed a box at the Town Office for people to put their unused winter jackets, coats, mittens, hats, scarves, sweaters, all clean and in good condition for the elderly in Waldo County in need of warm clothing. If you are not from Triad leave the items in the box alone. Triad will distribute them to whomever needs them. Thank you. School pictures will be taken at the Wagner school on Oct. 17th.

Also on Oct. 17th you can get a new dog license for 2017. Make sure you have your dogs get their rabies shot.

On Oct. 19th Tea Mainea is celebrating their 3 year Anniversary. As a way to say thank you to our customers we invite you to come to the store to enter to win a large basket of goodies and take advantage of our various specials through out the month. Also the return of Free Tea Fridays begins this week. Bring a non-perishable item to us for the Neighbors Food Cupboard and you will receive a free cup of tea.
