Wixson brings ‘Hens and Chickens’ to town
Belfast — On Saturday, Dec. 8 from 1 to 3 p.m., Beyond the Sea, 74 Main St., will host author Jennifer Wixson of Troy for a book signing of her new release, “Hens and Chickens, A Story About Love.”
Two women downsized by corporate America move to Maine to raise chickens and sell organic eggs. They discover more than they bargain for — including romance. "Hens and Chickens" (White Wave, 2012) is set in the mythical town of Sovereign, Maine (pop. 1,048) and is the first book in the four-novel Sovereign Series. The second book in the series, "Peas, Beans and Corn," which continues the story where "Hens and Chickens" leaves off, is slated for publication in the spring.
Wixson, a Maine farmer, writer and itinerant Quaker minister, and her husband raise Scottish Highland cattle. She can be followed on Twitter via Jennifer@ChickenJen and on her Facebook page. For more information about the singing, call 338-2100 or visit Beyond the Sea’s Facebook page.
