Bangor — WLBZ Channel 2 recently honored community members who have shown exceptional dedication to service at the annual 2 Those Who Care awards held at Husson University. Among those honored is Stockton Springs’ Tim Woitowitz, winner of the 2016 John W. Coombs Award.

2 Those Who Care is an annual recognition for those who give back to their community in meaningful ways. Woitowitz was recognized for his tireless work with youth in crisis through a program he founded, Making Change. He also splits volunteer hours with Hospice Volunteers of Waldo County and Belfast Community Outreach Program in Education.

Woitowitz, founder of local blues band Juke Rockets, envisioned and then established the music program at BCOPE and shares his musical expertise with any student who expresses an interest in learning. He also is the “super sub,” whenever BCOPE needs him to help out in any other way.

Recipients received an award, as well as a donation to their cause or a cause of their choice. Woitowitz has decided that his monetary award will go to the BCOPE music program.

It couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.  Tim's positive attitude is good for all of us and he always has plenty to go around. Proud to call him a Waldo County Man.
